BUSINESS DEFINITION
5X is a small company that performs the continual production of poster display with respect to demand of customers during a year.
Mission :
Being a pioneer in our field and meeting our customers' needs in the best way by creating high quality and functional products.
Development Process :
Many poster displays and their desings were analyzed in order to fulfill common needs of demands. Consequently, a poster display which can also be used as a whiteboard were designed. In addition, magnetic surface were used to prevent posters from damages. After the desing was completed, big stores like Bauhaus were searched to determine the materials of our poster display. Next, information from important companies and fabrics were gained by phone calls and the Internet.
Future Goals:
5X will get a high marketing share starting with Turkish and continuing with global marketing.
SECTOR ANALYSIS
With the light of the informations we get there are two important poster display producers which are the brands Snapper and Carried.
Market Capacity :
Snapper, meets %40 of the needs of Turkey’s market in production of poster displays which are used indoor and outdoor. The second important company is Carried who owns %50 of Turkey’s poster display market.
Product and Production Analysis in Market :
In 2007, Snapper produced approximately 10000 poster displays and 7000 of them used indoor. Production capacity changes with respect to demands of market. They sell their product in outlets and they have the most number of outlets. As a result there is a huge difference between production cost(about 50€) and selling cost(128€)(this is for a two-sided framed poster display). For instance, for a magnetic board selling cost changes from 30€ to 180€ dependant to stand type. The most demanded one is two-side framed poster display which is called as infoboard. Average profit from a poster display is %20. All products are created with band system. Production time for a product is about 10 minutes for this firm. On the other hand, Carried mostly produces 5000 poster displays in a year, but they have a model that is produced about 10000. They produce poster displays dependent to orders, so they don’t have any stock. They sell their products with %30 profit. The most demanded product is one or two sided stretchpants print boards which is used for advertising by firms. Yearly profit is about 40000 YTL according to official explanations, but real profit is a secret.
CUSTOMER AND COMPETITION ANALYSIS
Customer Analysis:
Target customer profil of 5X consists of many places like houses, schools, shopping centres, showrooms, fairgrounds, product stands, markets, cafes and bars. Observations in the stores and showrooms in CEPA in Ankara; in markets, bars and cafes in Kızılay and Bahçeli; in the universities and high schools illustrate that there is a need for poster display which is used for posters, brochures and announcements without posters. It is observed that a poster display that is bilateral, adjustable length, portable, and has a console for magazines is appropriate for mentioned centre.
Competition Analysis:
After the companies which have high market shares in Poster Display Industry were identified by the Internet, information about their product strategies were gotten from them. It showed that bilateral poster display is the product which is produced most in a year. Our inference from supply-demand relation is proved that this design is needed most.
PRODUCT DEFINITION
A design which gives a white board feature to a poster display and makes difference with its functions.
Product Features:
With the materials that we used and the design we created, a recycled and eco-friendly materials, lightweight, strong, functional, ergonomic, storable/demountable, portable, robust, aesthetic, masy poster-placement and removing, market success – attractive, cheap, appropriate for mass production, be produced by physically handicapped workers product were produced. Our board’s two side include 70*100 cm hardboard and a layer of paper and paint which provides a magnetic feature to our product. For being portablethe surfaceof the poster display is hanged up to the aluminium pipe with a clip . Moreover, each surface can be hanged to the wall by seperating from the pipe. To beable to be stand, there is a 30 cm aluminium base; and 46*30cm aluminium brochure holders on both sides for magazines and handbills.
Product Functions:
Aluminium and hardboard were used in the product to be recycable and environmentally friendly. These materialshas also integrated some features such as being lightweight, strong and robust. Thanks to the magnetic surface,it has become an easy poster placement-removing and different product. Removable surfaces provide an ergonomic and portable design. With its brochure holder, our product became functional, aesthetic and market success attractive.In addition, it is a product that is appropriate for both mass production and handicapping.

PRODUCTION PROCESS PLAN
Manifacturing Process and Quality Control:
At first, the workplace in OSTİM, from which we got a contrat, form the aluminium and wood in order to produce the parts of the product and the product will be shaped and controlled according to the division of labor plan in this workplace.
MARKETING PLAN
Marketing Strategies and Advertisement:
First of all, the important issue for 5X is local sales. Our product is introduced by two ways: by the help of the Internet and direct advertisement materials. A website consisting the representation of our product and our communication information are done and e-mailing is used to reach our target population directly. A budget for the brochure and handbill were put aside. A model is produced to introduce the product at the big malls which address to so many people.
Future Plans :
As soon as sufficient budget is acquired, the product is improved and the variety of the products is increased. The long term plan is participating in the fairs related to our area or leaving a model to be used in the fairs to introduce itself. In the fairs, the company’s potential of customers and access to the firms are increased.
The Methods of Selling:
Two ways for selling the products are planned :
* Directly sale from the production place
* Sale with the help of retailers: In short term, retailers are arranged which have wide transportation facilities. After acquiring sufficient budget in the long term, 5X’s own transportation firm are established to reach so many markets.

Gökçe TURAN, Selim ŞEREFLİ, Murathan ŞARVAN, E.Alev ORBAY and Can BİLGİN are the owners and the management team of 5X. Each person who is a member of the board has a role on the company management :

Personnel Plan :
At first, there is a 5-employee group, responsible for production and control of quality. Their payment is determined according to the company’s profit and as the company and its sales grows, there is a steady increase among the number of the employees and their payments.
Suppliers :
5X has one supplier at first. A contrat will be done with a small workplace in OSTİM for producing and forming the aluminium parts of our products. Transpostation is provided by the customers. As growing, 5X will have own transportation service.
DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND STRATEGY
- 5X is a company that aims to be the best among the poster display markets by producing useful, robust, functional, protable and aesthetic ones.
- There is a balance between the marketing plan of the company and trends, the customers’ demands and technologic developments. Correct development strategies and board and production choices enable the company to have a high market share in few years.
- 5X has the transportation service and develops the mass production technics if financial situation and development strategy match with each other.
